Abstract
A washable absorbent assembly having a liquid permeable layer, a liquid barrier member including at least one layer, and an absorbent member arranged between the liquid permeable layer and the liquid barrier member. Further, the liquid barrier member has a breathability level in a range of 2500 to 5500 g/m2/24 hours as measured according to Nonwoven Standard Procedure NWSP 70.4R0. Also provided herein is a washable absorbent hygienic underwear for absorbing urine, menses, or other body fluids having a textile undergarment and in which a washable absorbent assembly as described herein is permanently secured in the textile undergarment.

A washable absorbent assembly adapted to be permanently or detachably secured in a textile undergarment, the washable absorbent assembly extending a length in a longitudinal direction and a width in a transverse direction, having a thickness in a z-direction perpendicular to the longitudinal and transverse directions and comprising:
- a liquid permeable layer,
- a liquid barrier member comprising at least one layer, and
- an absorbent member arranged between the liquid permeable layer and the liquid barrier member
- wherein the liquid barrier member has a breathability level in a range of 2500 to 5500 g/m2/24 hours as measured according to Nonwoven Standard Procedure NWSP 70.4R0
