Abstract

A knee orthosis assembly for a trans-tibial amputee having a leg prosthesis includes a socket for receiving a stump of the trans-tibial amputee, the socket having an open end receiving the stump, the open end including a socket hinge element integrated with the open end. A femoral cuff is configured for engaging an upper leg portion of the trans-tibial amputee, the femoral cuff having a femoral transverse member and a femoral longitudinal member protruding from the femoral transverse member. The femoral longitudinal member includes a femoral hinge element integrated with the femoral longitudinal member, the femoral hinge element engaging with the socket hinge element to define a hinge of the knee orthosis assembly.
