This disclosure relates to surgical fixation systems and methods. The surgical fixation systems can include a fixation device and an adjustable loop connected to the fixation device.
Claims20
A surgical fixation system, comprising:
- a fixation device including:
- a body including a top surface, a bottom surface, and a side wall that extends between the top surface and the bottom surface;
- a first aperture, a second aperture, and a suture return aperture formed through the body;
- a bridge arranged between the first aperture and the second aperture;
- and
- a protruding surface arranged between the bridge and the suture return aperture.

A surgical fixation system, comprising:
- a button including a top surface, a bottom surface, a first aperture, a second aperture, a suture return aperture, a bridge disposed between the first aperture and the second aperture, and a bump disposed between the bridge and the suture return aperture;
- an adjustable loop connected to the first aperture and the second aperture, wherein the adjustable loop includes a first spliced section and a first shortening strand extending from the first spliced section;
- the first shortening strand is arranged to extend through the suture return aperture and then beneath a loop section of the adjustable loop that rests over the bridge;
- and
- wherein, in a locked position of the adjustable loop, the first shortening strand is tensioned against an outer surface of the bridge by the loop section of the adjustable loop.
