Abstract
A soft floor of a foldable basinet wherein the floor includes first and second semi-rigid portions joined by a flexible interface. A sleeve spanning the flexible interface is configured to receive a moveable stiffener and allow the moveable stiffener to be positioned to span the flexible interface and retain the first and second semi-rigid portions in a generally fixed and co-planar arrangement. Moving the moveable stiffener so it does not space the flexible interface allows the first and second portions to be folded about the interface allowing compact storage of the basinet floor when it is not in use.
Claims17
A foldable floor panel for use in a collapsible bassinet comprising:
- a first panel portion;
- a second panel portion flexibly joined to the first panel portion;
- a sleeve spanning the first portion and the second portion, the sleeve configured to slideably receive a moveable stiffener in a manner enabling stiffener movement between a first position in which the stiffener is adjacent to the first portion or the second portion, and a second position in which the stiffener is simultaneously adjacent to the first and second portions;
- wherein the stiffener retains the first and second portions in a coplanar arrangement when in the second position.
A stiffener arrangement for a soft floor of a foldable bassinet comprising:
- a first portion of the soft floor including a first stiffening member;
- a second portion of the soft floor including a second stiffening member;
- a flexible interface joining the first portion and the second portion;
- a sleeve formed in the first and second portions, the sleeve spanning the flexible interface;
- a moveable stiffener disposed in the sleeve and configured to be alternatively positioned adjacent to the first or second portion body, or simultaneously adjacent to the first and second portions;
- wherein positioning the moveable stiffener simultaneously adjacent to the first and second portions retains the first and second portions in a generally planar configuration.
A collapsible child supporting enclosure for a foldable bassinet comprising:
- a frame-support sidewall;
- a floor connected to and supported by the sidewall, the floor further comprising a first portion, a second portion, the first and second portions being flexibly joined at a folding interface;
- a sleeve spanning the first portion and the second portion, the sleeve configured to slideably receive a moveable stiffener in a manner enabling stiffener movement between a first position in which the moveable stiffener spans the folding interface, and a second position in which the moveable stiffener is adjacent to only one of the first portion or the second portion;
- wherein the moveable stiffener retains the first and second portions in a coplanar arrangement when in the first position.
