Abstract
The present disclosure relates to energizing garments wearable by a user. The energizing garment is provided with compressive material and fingers (e.g., watershed fingers and/or massage (non-watershed) fingers) that can be positioned about the user's body to provide a combination of compression and penetrating massage to tissues that are oriented relative to watersheds of the user. The compressive material and fingers may be sized, shaped, oriented, or arranged in patterns to strategically energize the tissues of the user to release fluids, such as lymph, interstitial fluids, and/or blood, along or across the watersheds.
Claims20
An energizing garment, comprising:
- a compressive material configured to be worn by a user, the compressive material shaped to apply a first compressive force and a second compressive force to skin of the user, the compressive material having a first portion positioned about at least one non-watershed region of the user and having the first compressive force, and a second portion having the second compressive force different from the first compressive force;
- and
- first fingers secured to the first portion of the compressive material and oriented to encourage interstitial fluid flow towards at least one lymph node of the user.
An energizing garment, comprising:
- a compressive material shaped to conform to a body of a user, the compressive material having a graduated elasticity to apply a first compressive force and a second compressive force against the body of the user when worn by the user, the compressive material having at least one first portion configured to exert the first compressive force and at least one second portion configured to be positioned about at least one non-watershed region of the user and configured to exert the second compressive force, the second compressive force being different from the first compressive force;
- first fingers secured to the at least one first portion of the compressive material to compressively engage the body of the user and to encourage interstitial fluid flow towards at least one lymph node of the user;
- and
- second fingers secured to the at least one second portion of the compressive material to massagingly engage the body of the user and to encourage interstitial fluid flow towards lymphatic vessels of the user whereby lymphatic vessels of the user are encouraged to absorb interstitial fluid.
A method of making an energizing garment for treating tissues of a user, the method comprising:
- providing a compressive material having graduated elasticity;
- cutting the compressive material into a material pattern configured to conform to a body of the user;
- securing first fingers to the compressive material, the first fingers configured to apply a first compressive force;
- and
- securing second fingers to the compressive material corresponding to at least one non-watershed region of the body of the user and configured to apply a second compressive force less than the first compressive force.
