A method for processing data associated with at least one controller of a manufacturing device, for example a manufacturing system. The method includes: ascertaining first information characterizing a communication link, for example a capacity of a communication link, between the at least one controller and at least one further device; influencing at least one application executed by means of the at least one controller on the basis of the first information.

- ascertaining first information characterizing a communication link including a capacity of the communication link between the at least one controller and at least one further device;
- and
- influencing at least one application executed by the at least one controller based on the first information.
A device configured to process data associated with at least one controller of a manufacturing device, the device configured to:
- ascertain first information characterizing a communication link including a capacity of the communication link between the at least one controller and at least one further device;
- and
- influence at least one application executed by the at least one controller based on the first information.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium on which is stored a computer program including commands for processing data associated with at least one controller of a manufacturing device, the commands, when executed by a computer, causing the computer to perform the following steps:
- ascertaining first information characterizing a communication link including a capacity of the communication link between the at least one controller and at least one further device;
- and
- influencing at least one application executed by the at least one controller based on the first information.
