Abstract
Known stream classification service (SCS) has been improved for multi-link support. The low latency streams are identified with a SCSID. Improved SCS mechanisms may be used to allow a station to report link preference associated with low latency streams. Adapted SCS may also be used for negotiating a set of link for transmission of the low latency streams. An amended trigger frame may be used by the AP for scheduling the low latency streams. It is also proposed to adapt the target wake time (TWT) service period for allowing low latency dedicated TWT periods adapted to transmit streams identified with a SCSID.
Claims25
A communication apparatus comprising:
- at least one memory that stores a set of instructions;
- and
- at least one processor that executes the instructions, the instructions, when executed, causing the communication apparatus to perform operations comprising:
- transmitting a Stream Classification Service (SCS) Descriptor element to an access point apparatus,
- the SCS Descriptor element including:
- a Link ID subfield that contains a link identifier corresponding to a link for which a data transmission is going to occur,
- a Direction subfield that is configured to indicate direction of data, the Direction subfield configured to be capable of setting at least a direct link as the direction,
- a maximum service interval subfield that indicates a maximum interval for at least a direct link transmission, and
- a minimum service interval subfield that indicates a minimum interval for at least the direct link transmission.
A communication apparatus comprising:
- at least one memory that stores a set of instructions;
- and
- at least one processor that executes the instructions, the instructions, when executed, causing the communication apparatus to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a Stream Classification Service (SCS) Descriptor element from a non-access point apparatus,
- the SCS Descriptor element including:
- a Link ID subfield that contains a link identifier corresponding to a link for which a data transmission is going to occur,
- a Direction subfield that is configured to indicate direction of data, the Direction subfield configured to be capable of setting at least a direct link as the direction,
- a maximum service interval subfield that indicates a maximum interval for at least a direct link transmission, and
- a minimum service interval subfield that indicates a minimum interval for at least the direct link transmission;
- and
- scheduling a transmission resource for the non-access point apparatus to transmit the data.
A method of controlling a communication apparatus comprising:
- generating a Stream Classification Service (SCS) Descriptor element;
- and
- transmitting the SCS Descriptor to an access point apparatus,
- wherein the SCS Descriptor element includes:
- a Link ID subfield that contains a link identifier corresponding to a link for which a data transmission is going to occur,
- a Direction subfield that is configured to indicate direction of data, the Direction subfield configured to be capable of setting at least a direct link as the direction,
- a maximum service interval subfield that indicates a maximum interval for at least a direct link transmission, and
- a minimum service interval subfield that indicates a minimum interval for at least the direct link transmission.
A method of controlling a communication apparatus comprising:
- receiving a Stream Classification Service (SCS) Descriptor element from a non-access point apparatus;
- and
- scheduling a transmission resource for the non-access point apparatus to transmit data,
- wherein the SCS Descriptor element includes:
- a Link ID subfield that contains a link identifier corresponding to a link for which a data transmission is going to occur,
- a Direction subfield that is configured to indicate direction of data, the Direction subfield configured to be capable of setting at least a direct link as the direction,
- a maximum service interval subfield that indicates a maximum interval for at least a direct link transmission, and
- a minimum service interval subfield that indicates a minimum interval for at least the direct link transmission.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium that stores a program that causes, when the program is executed, a communication apparatus to perform:
- generating a Stream Classification Service (SCS) Descriptor element;
- and
- transmitting the SCS Descriptor to an access point apparatus,
- wherein the SCS Descriptor element includes:
- a Link ID subfield that contains a link identifier corresponding to a link for which a data transmission is going to occur,

- receiving a Stream Classification Service (SCS) Descriptor element from a non-access point apparatus;
- and
- scheduling a transmission resource for the non-access point apparatus to transmit data,
- wherein the SCS Descriptor element includes:
- a Link ID subfield that contains a link identifier corresponding to a link for which a data transmission is going to occur,
