An example system includes a flow cell containing a fluidic channel configured to receive a sample, where the sample includes plasma and blood cells. and one or more acoustic transducers configured to output acoustic waves to the fluidic channel. The one or more acoustic transducers are configured (i) to output acoustic waves in a first frequency range to separate the plasma from the blood cells in the fluidic channel, and (ii) to output acoustic waves in a second frequency range to lyse the blood cells in the fluidic channel. The first frequency range includes higher frequencies than the second frequency range. A spectrometer is configured (i) to perform detection on a region of the fluidic channel containing the plasma separated from the blood cells, and (ii) to perform detection on a region of the fluidic channel where the blood cells have been lysed.
A system comprising:
The system of claim 5, wherein the one or more acoustic transducers are bound to the flow cell and therefore are part of the cartridge.
The system of claim 5, wherein the one or more acoustic transducers are configured to move to into physical coupling with the flow cell when the cartridge is fully in the slot of the test instrument.
A method comprising:
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
