Abstract
An AGL (above ground level) altitude module may determine an AGL value for the aircraft. An air data MSL (mean sea level) module may determine an air data MSL value for the aircraft based on an air data measurement. A blending module may generate a synthesized operational altitude value for the aircraft based on the AGL value and the air data MSL value. At least one of may be executed: transmitting the synthesized operational altitude value for display to a user of the aircraft; or partially or fully controlling operation of the aircraft according to the synthesized operational altitude value.

A method comprising:
- determining, by an AGL (above ground level) altitude module, an AGL value for an aircraft;
- determining, by an air data MSL (mean sea level) module, an air data MSL value for the aircraft based on an air data measurement;
- generating, by a blending module, a synthesized operational altitude value for the aircraft based on the AGL value and the air data MSL value;
- and
- performing at least one of:
- transmitting the synthesized operational altitude value for display to a user of the aircraft;
- or
- partially or fully controlling an operation of the aircraft according to the synthesized operational altitude value.
One or more non-transitory computer readable storage mediums storing instructions that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to:
- determine an above ground level (AGL) value for an aircraft;
- determine an air data mean see level (MSL) value for the aircraft based on an air data measurement;
- generate a synthesized operational altitude value for the aircraft based on the AGL value and the air data MSL value;
- and
- perform at least one of:
- transmit the synthesized operational altitude value for display to a user of the aircraft;
- or
- partially or fully control operation of the aircraft according to the synthesized operational altitude value.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more computer readable storage mediums storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
- determine an above ground level (AGL) value for an aircraft;
- determine an air data mean sea level (MSL) value for the aircraft based on an air data measurement;
- generate a synthesized operational altitude value for the aircraft based on the AGL value and the air data MSL value;
- and
- perform at least one of:
- transmit the synthesized operational altitude value for display to a user of the aircraft;
- or
- partially or fully control operation of the aircraft according to the synthesized operational altitude value.
