Abstract
A rolling bearing includes a shell type outer ring having a raceway surface on an inside diameter side thereof, multiple rollers rolling on the raceway surface, and a retainer arranged on the inside diameter side of the shell type outer ring and retaining the multiple rollers. The shell type outer ring has a flange formed to extend on the inside diameter side. The shell type outer ring has a protrusion formed to protrude on the inside diameter side. A plurality of such protrusions are provided spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction. When a protruding amount of the protrusion from the raceway surface is a length L1 and a wall thickness of the shell type outer ring at the raceway surface is a length T1, the length L1 is not more than the length T1.

A rolling bearing comprising:
- a shell type outer ring having a raceway surface on an inside diameter side thereof;
- a plurality of rollers rolling on the raceway surface;
- and
- a retainer arranged on the inside diameter side of the shell type outer ring and retaining the plurality of rollers;
- the shell type outer ring having, in a first region including a first end located on one side in an axial direction thereof, a flange formed to extend on the inside diameter side,
- the shell type outer ring having, in a second region including a second end located on another side in the axial direction thereof, a protrusion formed to protrude on the inside diameter side,
- a plurality of the protrusions being provided spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction,
- wherein when a protruding amount of the protrusion from the raceway surface is a length L1 and a wall thickness of the shell type outer ring at the raceway surface is a length T1,
- the length L1 is not more than the length T1.
