An airfoil for a turbine engine includes an exterior wall having an interior surface and an exterior surface, the interior surface at least partially defining an interior of the airfoil, a protuberance formed along the interior surface and extending into the interior, a film hole extending through the exterior wall between an inlet and an outlet, the outlet defined in a portion of the exterior surface, and a recess defined in a portion of the protuberance, wherein the inlet is defined in a portion of the recess, wherein the protuberance extends from the interior surface at a first location and a second location on opposite sides of the protuberance, wherein the recess is symmetric about a geometric plane intersecting a halfway point between the first location and the second location, wherein the geometric plane is perpendicular to the interior surface.
