Abstract
A dissolvable solid structure with a first layer and a second layer. The first layer includes from about 20% to about 100%, by weight of the first layer, of a first water-soluble polymer. The second layer includes from about 1% to about 50%, by weight of the second layer, of a second water-soluble polymer, a high melting point fatty material having an average carbon chain length C12-C22 and a melting point above 25° C., and a cationic surfactant. The dissolvable solid structure can provide improved flexibility and solubility in a composition, such as water, while having a sufficient structural integrity during manufacturing.
Claims20
A dissolvable solid structure comprising:
- a. a first layer comprising filaments;
- wherein the filaments comprise from about 20% to 100%, by weight of the first layer, of a first water-soluble polymer comprising a starch having a molecular weight of from about 1,000,000 g/mol to about 50,000,000 g/mol;
- wherein the first layer is free of a surfactant;
- b. a second layer comprising filaments;
- wherein the filaments comprise:
- from about 1% to about 50%, by weight of the second layer, of a second water-soluble polymer;
- a high melting point fatty material comprising an average carbon chain length from C12-C22 and the melting point is above 25° C.;
- and
- a cationic surfactant.
