Abstract

To provide a modified vinylaromatic copolymer which can be used in production of copolymer rubber and a copolymer rubber material obtained therefrom, which simultaneously has processability, strength and homogeneity. A modified vinylaromatic copolymer containing a structural unit (a) derived from a divinylaromatic compound, a structural unit (b) derived from a monovinylaromatic compound, and a structural unit (c) derived from a conjugated diene compound, wherein 95% by mol or more of the structural unit (a) is a crosslinked structural unit (al) represented by the following formula (1), the copolymer is modified by at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of an amino group, an alkoxysilyl group, and a hydroxyl group, and 30% by mol or more of the functional group is bound to the structural unit (c) derived from a conjugated diene compound to provide modification, and a number average molecular weight Mn is 500 to 30,000
