Rail guided cart system

A tracked cart system comprising:

• tracks in which a plurality of first rails extending in a first direction and second rails extending in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction are positioned to define a grid;
• a tracked cart movable in the first direction when a traveler travels on a pair of the first rails adjacent to each other in the second direction, and movable in the second direction when the traveler travels on a pair of the second rails adjacent to each other in the first direction;
• and
• a controller configured or programmed to control the tracked cart;
• wherein
• each of the pair of the first rails and each of the pair of the second rails are provided with a position recognition mark indicating position information on the track;
• the tracked cart includes:
• four position recognition sensors to acquire the position information from the position recognition mark and positioned to, when the tracked cart moves in the first direction, face a corresponding surface on which the position recognition mark is provided on each of the pair of first rails, and when the tracked cart moves in the second direction, face a corresponding surface on which the position recognition mark is provided on each of the pair of second rails;
• and
• the controller is configured or programmed to, based on the position information acquired by at least one of the four position recognition sensors, derive a shift amount between a predetermined position in a cell that is an area enclosed by the pair of the first rails and the pair of the second rails, and a stop position of the tracked cart.
