Abstract
An image forming apparatus includes a transportation guide and a detector. The transportation guide is provided along a curved portion of a transportation path for a sheet. The transportation guide has a curved shape and includes openings. The detector is provided on an opposite side of the transportation guide from the curved portion, and detects an end of the sheet in a scanning direction. In the image forming apparatus, the detector detects an end of a sheet in the scanning direction using the curve-shaped transportation guide including openings. This makes it possible to detect the sheet efficiently.
Claims6
An image forming apparatus, comprising:
- a curve-shaped transportation guide that is provided along a curved portion of a transportation path for a sheet, the transportation guide including openings;
- and
- a detector that is provided on an opposite side of the transportation guide from the curved portion, the detector detecting an end of the sheet in a scanning direction.
