Abstract
An electrified fire fighting vehicle includes a chassis, a front axle coupled to the chassis, a rear axle coupled to the chassis, a water pump, an energy storage system, an engine, an electromagnetic device coupled to the energy storage system, and a supplemental motor coupled to the energy storage system. The electromagnetic device includes an input coupled to the engine, a first output coupled to the water pump, and a second output coupled to the rear axle. The supplemental motor is coupled to and positioned rearward of the rear axle. The engine is configured to drive the water pump and the rear axle through the electromagnetic device. The electromagnetic device is configured to drive the water pump and the rear axle. The supplemental motor is configured to drive the rear axle.
