Abstract

An automatic pour over coffee machine has a machine housing and a coffee filter assembly supported on the machine housing. The coffee filter assembly comprises a basket for holding coffee grounds and a rotation motor operatively coupled to the basket for rotating the basket relative to the machine housing. A water delivery system is arranged within the machine housing and is configured to dispense heated water over the coffee grounds in a laminar flow. The water delivery system comprises a nozzle for receiving heated water. A linear motor operatively couples to the nozzle for moving the nozzle laterally relative to the machine housing. A vibration motor operatively couples to the basket for vibrating the basket in a selected vibration sequence. A combination of rotation of the basket, lateral movement of the nozzle, and vibration of the basket in the selected vibration sequence produces a desired “pour over” coffee flavor profile.
