Abstract
A method for providing a shareable media hosting platform includes recording, by a user device, multiple video segments corresponding to a narrative of a user. The method further includes storing, in a memory, the multiple video segments. The method also includes combining, by a processor and in response to a request from the user device, the multiple video segments into a single video stream that tells the narrative of the user.
Claims20
A method implemented in a computing system for providing a shareable media hosting platform, the method comprising:
- recording, by a user device, multiple video segments corresponding to a narrative of a user;
- storing, in a memory, the multiple video segments;
- receiving, by a processor, a user-selected theme for a single video stream, the theme being selected in response to a list of potential themes;
- automatically identifying, by the processor, a sequential order for the multiple video segments to be provided in the single video stream that tells the narrative of the user based on the user-selected theme;
- receiving, by the processor, additional user-provided media associated with the narrative of the user;
- automatically determining, by the processor, at least one sentiment expressed in the additional user-provided media;
- automatically identifying, by the processor, a location in the sequential order for the multiple video segments in which to position the additional user-provided media based on the determined at least one sentiment;
- combining, by the processor and in response to a request from the user device, the multiple video segments and the additional user-provided media into the single video stream in the sequential order that tells the narrative of the user;
- storing, by a server, a profile corresponding to the user of the user device;
- linking, by the server, the profile of at least one additional user based on a request from the user device or from at least one additional user device associated with the profile of the at least one additional user;
- and
- facilitating, by the server, viewing of the single video stream by the at least one additional user device based on the link between the profile with the profile of the at least one additional user.
A system for providing a shareable media hosting platform, the system comprising:
- a user device having:
- a camera configured to capture image data, the user device configured to record multiple video segments that each correspond to a narrative of a user,
- an output device configured to output a list of potential themes, and
- an input device configured to receive a user-selected theme for a single video stream from the list of potential themes;
- a memory configured to store the multiple video segments;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- automatically identify a sequential order for the multiple video segments to be provided in the single video stream that tells the narrative of the user based on the user-selected theme,
- receive additional user-provided media associated with the narrative of the user,
- automatically determine at least one sentiment expressed in the additional user-provided media,
- automatically identify a location in the sequential order for the multiple video segments in which to position the additional user-provided media based on the determined at least one sentiment,
- combine the multiple video segments and the additional user-provided media into the single video stream in the sequential order that tells the narrative of the user in response to a request from the user device,
- store a profile corresponding to the user of the user device,
- link the profile of at least one additional user based on a request from the user device or from at least one additional user device associated with the profile of the at least one additional user, and
- facilitate viewing of the single video stream by the at least one additional user device based on the link between the profile with the profile of the at least one additional user.
A method implemented in a computing system for providing a shareable media hosting platform, the method comprising:
- recording, by a user device, multiple video segments corresponding to a narrative of a user;
- storing, in a memory, the multiple video segments;
- receiving, by a processor, a user-selected theme for a single video stream, the theme being selected in response to a list of potential themes;
- automatically identifying, by the processor, a sequential order for the multiple video segments to be provided in the single video stream that tells the narrative of the user based on the user-selected theme;
- receiving, by the processor, additional user-provided media associated with the narrative of the user;
- automatically determining, by the processor, at least one sentiment expressed in the additional user-provided media;
- automatically identifying, by the processor, a location in the sequential order for the multiple video segments in which to position the additional user-provided media based on the determined at least one sentiment;
- combining, by the processor and in response to a request from the user device, the multiple video segments and the additional user-provided media into the single video stream in the sequential order that tells the narrative of the user;
- storing, by a server, a profile corresponding to the user of the user device;
- linking, by the server, the profile of at least one additional user based on a request from the user device or from at least one additional user device associated with the profile of the at least one additional user;
- facilitating, by the server, viewing of the single video stream by the at least one additional user device based on the link between the profile with the profile of the at least one additional user;
- allowing the at least one additional user to submit additional information related to the viewed single video stream;
- and
- compiling the additional information received from multiple users into a single story narrative.
