Abstract
A video coding mechanism is disclosed. The mechanism includes receiving a bitstream comprising a sub-picture partitioned from a picture and a sequence parameter set (SPS) comprising a sub-picture size and a sub-picture location. The SPS is parsed to obtain the sub-picture size of the sub-picture and the sub-picture location of the sub-picture. The sub-picture is decoded based on the sub-picture size and the sub-picture location to create a video sequence. The video sequence is forwarded for display.
Claims16
A method implemented by a decoder, comprising:
- receiving a bitstream comprising a current sub-picture and a sequence parameter set (SPS), wherein the current sub-picture is partitioned from a picture and is identified by a sub-picture identifier (ID), wherein the SPS comprises a sub-picture size of the current sub-picture, a sub-picture location of the current sub-picture, and sub-picture IDs for each sub-picture partitioned from the picture, and wherein the sub-picture IDs comprise the sub-picture ID of the current sub-picture;
- parsing the SPS to obtain the sub-picture size of the current sub-picture, the sub-picture location of the current sub-picture, and the sub-picture ID of the current sub-picture;
- and
- decoding the current sub-picture based on the sub-picture size of the current sub-picture, the sub-picture location of the current sub-picture, and the sub-picture ID of the current sub-picture.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a video processing apparatus, cause the video processing apparatus to:
- encode a current sub-picture into a bitstream, wherein the current sub-picture is partitioned from a picture and identified by a sub-picture identifier (ID);
- encode a sub-picture size of the current sub-picture and a sub-picture location of the current sub-picture into a sequence parameter set (SPS) of the bitstream;
- and
- encode sub-picture IDs for each sub-picture partitioned from the picture into the SPS, wherein the sub-picture IDs comprise the sub-picture ID of the current sub-picture.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing an encoded bitstream and one or more instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause a decoding device to generate a video based on the encoded bitstream, the encoded bitstream comprising:
- a picture;
- a current sub-picture, wherein the current sub-picture is partitioned from the picture and identified by a sub-picture identifier (ID);
- and
- a sequence parameter set (SPS), wherein the SPS comprises a sub-picture size of the current sub-picture, a sub-picture location of the current sub-picture, and sub-picture IDs for each sub-picture partitioned from the picture, wherein the sub-picture IDs comprise the sub-picture ID of the current sub-picture.
