Abstract
A vehicle surroundings monitoring apparatus that records a surrounding environment of a parked vehicle using a vehicle-mounted camera includes a determination unit that determines whether the vehicle is parked at a user's home by receiving a radio signal, and a recording control unit that does not record the surrounding environment of the vehicle when the determination unit determines that the vehicle is parked at the user's home.

A vehicle surroundings monitoring apparatus that records a surrounding environment of a parked vehicle using a vehicle-mounted camera, the apparatus comprising:
- a determination unit that determines whether the vehicle is parked at a user's home by receiving a radio signal;
- and
- a recording control unit that does not record the surrounding environment of the vehicle when the determination unit determines that the vehicle is parked at the user's home.
