Abstract

A sensor system comprises a sensor-transmission module (STM) configured to receive raw signals from a sensor element responsive to a condition being sensed, wherein the STM includes a transmission module with a firmware, wherein the firmware of the transmission module is configured to automatically attach a sensor element identification to the raw signals, wherein the firmware of the transmission module is further configured to automatically transmit the sensor element identification and the raw signals to a mobile device; the mobile communication device is configured to forward the received sensor element identification and the raw signals to a cloud-based server; and the cloud-based server is configured to receive the forwarded sensor element identification and the raw signals, wherein the server is configured to recognize the raw signals received based on the accompanying sensor element identification and applies sensor-specific computations.
