Abstract
Techniques described herein include managing scheduling of interrupts by receiving a data packet comprising an indication of an interrupt to be delivered, determining an availability status of a processing thread, and managing an interrupt status indicator in response to determining the availability status. A value of the interrupt status indicator corresponds to a quantity of pending interrupts. An event handling circuit processes the interrupt or one or more pending interrupts using the processing thread.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- one or more circuits to:
- determine, based on a request from a first event handler, whether there is at least one pending interrupt which could be processed by a processing thread in use by the first event handler;
- set a value of a first field of a doorbell interface based on the determination of whether there is at least one pending interrupt which could be processed by the processing thread;
- and
- send the value of the first field to the first event handler.
A device, comprising:
- a doorbell interface comprising a first field;
- and
- one or more circuits to:
- receive a request from a first event handler occupying a processing thread;
- set, in response to receiving the request, a value of the first field of the doorbell interface based on whether there is at least one pending interrupt which the processing thread could process;
- and
- send the value of the first field to the first event handler.
A device, comprising:
- a doorbell interface comprising a first field;
- a counter to track pending interrupts;
- and
- one or more circuits to:
- receive a request from a first event handler occupying a processing thread;
- determine a number of pending interrupts from the counter;
- set a value of the first field of the doorbell interface based on the number of pending interrupts;
- and
- send the value of the first field to the first event handler.
