The present invention relates to a relatively thin ion-conductive thermoplastic interlayer comprising a polyvinyl acetal, an electrolyte salt, and a dispersant for use in electrochromic devices.

An ion-conductive thermoplastic interlayer, comprising:
- a polyvinyl acetal, an electrolyte salt, and a dispersant,
- wherein the ion-conductive thermoplastic interlayer has a thickness of from 5 to 250 μm.
