An information processing apparatus, comprising a controller configured to execute:

• acquiring a current position as measured by a positioning module;
• acquiring a measurement precision of the acquired current position;
• determining whether the acquired current position is inside or outside an object geofence;
• weighting a determination result of the object geofence with the acquired measurement precision;
• accumulating weighted determination results by repeatedly acquiring the current position, acquiring the measurement precision, determining whether the current position is inside or outside the object geofence, and weighting the determination result with the measurement precision;
• when a sum of weights of determination results of either inside or outside in the accumulated determination results exceeds a threshold, ascertaining a determination result of the object geofence with whichever determination result having exceeded the threshold;
• and
• outputting information related to the ascertained determination result.

An information processing method to be executed by a computer, comprising:

• acquiring a current position as measured by a positioning module;
• acquiring a measurement precision of the acquired current position;
• determining whether the acquired current position is inside or outside an object geofence;
• weighting a determination result of the object geofence with the acquired measurement precision;
• accumulating weighted determination results by repeatedly acquiring the current position, acquiring the measurement precision, determining whether the current position is inside or outside the object geofence, and weighting the determination result with the measurement precision;
• when a sum of weights of determination results of either inside or outside in the accumulated determination results exceeds a threshold, ascertaining a determination result of the object geofence with whichever determination result having exceeded the threshold;
• and
• outputting information related to the ascertained determination result.
