Abstract
A cryogenic storage tank includes an inner wall and an outer wall defining a space, wherein the inner wall and outer wall are spaced from one another by magnetic repulsion. In one embodiment the inner wall includes a high temperature superconducting material embedded in or on a surface of the inner wall, and the outer wall has conventional magnetic embedded in or on a surface of the outer wall.
Claims20
A cryogenic storage tank comprising an inner wall and an outer wall defining a space, wherein the inner wall and outer wall are spaced from one another by magnetic repulsion, said storage tank further comprising a plurality of elastomeric bumpers projecting into the space between the inner wall and the outer wall of the tank.
