Compositions, systems and methods for treating a substrate

Abstract

Disclosed herein is a conversion composition comprising a yield stress component and a corrosion inhibitor, wherein the conversion composition comprises a yield stress sufficient to overcome the effect of gravity when applied to a non-horizontal surface. The conversion composition may comprise a yield stress of at least 0.6 Pa at a frequency of 1 Hz and a temperature of 25° C. when the composition is applied to a substantially vertical substrate surface at a thickness of 0.5 mil to 40 mil, may comprise a viscosity of less than less than 700 mPa·s. at a shear rate of 100 reciprocal seconds at a temperature of 25° C. a viscosity of less than 200 mPa·s. at a shear rate of 1000 reciprocal seconds at a temperature of 25° C. or combinations thereof. Also disclosed are substrates comprising a film formed from the conversion composition. Also disclosed are systems and methods comprising the conversion composition and substrates formed therefrom.
