Abstract
A tooling assembly for forming a panel on a can end includes an upper panel cap with an upper panel insert disposed in the upper panel cap. The upper panel insert is tapered from a front end of the upper panel insert to a back end of the upper panel insert. The tooling assembly further includes a lower cap. The upper panel insert and the lower panel cap engage opposite sides of a can end, so that a panel is formed on the can end.

A tooling assembly for forming a panel on a can end, the tooling assembly comprising:
- an upper panel cap;
- an upper panel insert disposed in the upper panel cap;
- wherein the upper panel insert is tapered from a front end thereof to a back end thereof;
- a lower panel cap;
- wherein the upper panel insert and the lower panel cap are configured to engage opposite sides of a can end, such that a panel is formed thereon.
