Absorbent Web and Article

An absorbent web comprising:

• a web body defining a machine direction along a length of the web body and a transverse direction orthogonal to the machine direction, the web body comprising:
• a first major surface and a second major surface opposing the first major surface;
• a first longitudinal edge extending along the machine direction and a second longitudinal edge opposing the first longitudinal edge, such that each of the first and second major surfaces is disposed between the first and second longitudinal edges, the first longitudinal edge and the second longitudinal edge defining a total width of the web body therebetween along the transverse direction;
• a first region extending from the first longitudinal edge and having a first width along the transverse direction less than the total width of the web body, a second region spaced apart from the first region and extending from the second longitudinal edge and having a second width along the transverse direction less than the total width of the web body, and a third region disposed between the first and second regions and having a third width along the transverse direction less than the total width of the web body;
• a plurality of first slits extending from the first major surface to the second major surface and disposed in the first region of the web body, wherein each first slit is inclined from about 65 degrees to about 115 degrees relative to the machine direction;
• a plurality of second slits extending from the first major surface to the second major surface and disposed in the second region of the web body, wherein each second slit is inclined from about 65 degrees to about 115 degrees relative to the machine direction;
• and
• a plurality of third slits extending from the first major surface to the second major surface and disposed in the third region of the web body, wherein at least some third slits from the plurality of third slits are substantially parallel to or inclined obliquely to the machine direction, and wherein at least some third slits from the plurality of third slits are inclined to each first slit and each second slit.
