Abstract
A system can include a zipper that connects a mattress to a bed foundation. For example, the zipper can extend from a head end to a foot end of an adjustable foundation. For another example, a zipper can connect to a mattress along a seam of the mattress and/or to a foundation along a seam of a foundation. For another example, a first zipper can connect the mattress core to a second zipper and the second zipper can connect a foundation to the first zipper. For another example, first and second zippers can be substantially vertically aligned.
Claims20
A bed system comprising:
- A foundation;
- a mattress positioned on the foundation, wherein the mattress has a head end, a foot end, a left side, and a right side;
- and
- a zipper that connects the mattress to the foundation, wherein the zipper extends in a curved shape along at least one of the left side and the right side and also along at least one of the head end and the foot end, wherein the zipper comprises a first zipper tape attached along an underside of the mattress and a second zipper tape attached along a top of the foundation, wherein the first and second zipper tapes include first and second teeth, respectively, and the second teeth are configured to engage the first teeth.
A bed system comprising:
- a foundation;
- a mattress positioned on the foundation, wherein the mattress has a head end, a foot end, a left side, and a right side;
- and
- a zipper that connects the mattress to the foundation, wherein the zipper comprises first and second zipper tapes each having first and second zipper teeth, wherein the zipper has a length and a width, with the length being longer than the width, wherein a first portion of the zipper along the length of the zipper is connected to the foundation and to the mattress so as to hold the mattress to the foundation and wherein a second portion of the zipper along the length of the zipper hangs from the first portion of the zipper and forms a zipper tail that is not connected to the foundation or the mattress except through the first portion.
A bed system comprising:
- a foundation;
- a mattress positioned on the foundation, wherein the mattress has a head end, a foot end, a left side, and a right side;
- and
- a zipper comprising:
- a first zipper tape having first zipper teeth and a first end connector having a first magnetic portion, wherein the first zipper tape is attached to the mattress;
- and
- a second zipper tape having second zipper teeth and a second end connector having a second magnetic portion, wherein the second zipper tape is attached to the foundation, wherein the first teeth are configured to engage and connect to the second teeth, wherein the first magnetic portion is configured to engage and connect to the second magnetic portion, and wherein the first and second magnetic portions are configured to pull the first and second end connectors together when the mattress is positioned on the foundation with the first end connector positioned next to the second end connector.
A bed system comprising:
- a foundation;
- a mattress positioned on the foundation, wherein the mattress has a head end, a foot end, a left side, and a right side;
- an elongate structure having a plurality of fasteners configured for fastening to the foundation;
- and
- a zipper comprising:
- a first zipper tape attached to the mattress;
- and
- a second zipper tape attached to the elongate structure, wherein the elongate structure and the second zipper tape are positioned on the foundation at a location configured to allow the first zipper tape to connect to the second zipper tape when the mattress is positioned on the foundation.
