Abstract
A metallurgical furnace vessel includes a hearth and a sidewall structure including a first sidewall portion extending from a first end to a second end at a first sidewall angle from a first axis. The sidewall structure is coupled to the hearth such that the first sidewall angle is within a range from a lower threshold of 0.1° to an upper threshold of 25°.

A metallurgical furnace vessel comprising:
- a hearth;
- and
- a sidewall structure including a first sidewall portion extending from a first end to a second end at a first sidewall angle from a first axis;
- wherein the sidewall structure is coupled to the hearth;
- wherein the first sidewall angle is within a range from a lower threshold of 0.1° to an upper threshold of 25°.

- a conical sidewall portion extending from a first end to a second end at least partially surrounding a first axis;
- wherein the first end of the conical sidewall portion has a first diameter;
