Hvac system and method for commissioning a field device of a hvac system

A method for commissioning a field device of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, the method comprising:

• establishing a connection between a commissioning device and a first field device of a plurality of field devices;
• transmitting a reference set of data from the first field device to the commissioning device via the connection established between the commissioning device and the first field device;
• composing a target set of data based on the reference set of data, the target set of data comprising at least one data element not in common with the reference set of data;
• and
• transmitting the target set of data from the commissioning device to a second field device of the plurality of field devices.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to:

• establish a connection between a commissioning device and a first field device of a plurality of field devices;
• transmit a reference set of data from the first field device to the commissioning device via the connection established between the commissioning device and the first field device;
• compose a target set of data based on the reference set of data, the target set of data comprising at least one data element not in common with the reference set of data;
• and
• transmit the target set of data from the commissioning device to a second field device of the plurality of field devices.
