Window blinds with decorative valance lighting

Abstract

A decorative lighting kit for installation on a window blind assembly of the type having a headrail supporting a plurality of slats depending therefrom and an aesthetic valance attached to the headrail for concealing the headrail. The decorative lighting kit includes a plurality of light mount assemblies, each assembly comprises a support, and a headrail clip and a light clip affixed opposite ends of the support. The headrail clip is selectively engageable and disengageable with the headrail. An extrusion has two spaced apart legs forming a generally inverted U-shape defining a channel therein. The extrusion is engageable in the light clips and is substantially equal to the length of the headrail. Also included is a length of strip light receivable in the channel, and a lens substantially of a similar length as the length of the inverted U-shaped extrusion and receivable between ends of the legs of the extrusion.
