Yielding fence system with selectively lockable pivotal panels

A method for manufacturing a hurricane-resistant fence system, the method comprising steps of:

• installing a plurality of structural support posts in a substrate;
• fabricating a plurality of panels;
• integrating a rotational coupling assembly with each of said plurality of panels;
• mounting each panel between a pair of the structural support posts by pivotally connecting the rotational coupling assembly to said pair of structural support posts;
• and
• affixing a releasable locking mechanism operable to selectively prevent and permit rotation of each panel.

A modular fence panel apparatus for use in a yielding fence system, the apparatus designed to provide overkill defense against category 5 hurricanes, comprising:

• a panel body comprising a surface panel material;
• a rotational member affixed to said panel body, said rotational member having opposing ends defining connection interfaces for pivotal mounting between a pair of fence posts;
• and
• at least one locking component affixed to the panel body, said locking component defining a locking interface configured to engage with a corresponding locking interface on one of the pair of fence posts to prevent rotation of the apparatus.
