Abstract
The present disclosure generally relates to compositions containing peroxy gluconic acid, treatment fluids containing such compositions and methods of using the treatment fluids during various oil- and gas-field operations, water treatment, paper and pulp processing, and general disinfection.
Claims20
A method for treating a substrate, comprising:
- providing a treatment fluid comprising an oxidation product of glucose and hydrogen peroxide;
- and
- contacting the substrate with the treatment fluid for an effective amount of time to at least one of remove a contaminant, reduce a microbial population, or prevent formation of a polymer-polyvalent metal ion complex deposit.
A treatment fluid, comprising:
- gluconic acid;
- glucaric acid;
- and
- hydrogen peroxide;
- wherein the treatment fluid is configured to prevent or remove polymer-polyvalent metal ion complex deposits in a substrate.

A method of formulating a treatment fluid, comprising:
- combining gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide to form a treatment fluid;
- and
- adding citric acid to the treatment fluid,
- wherein the treatment fluid is configured to selectively bind to iron ions over calcium ions.
