Abstract
A polycarbonate composition includes particular amounts of a bisphenol A homopolycarbonate, a polycarbonate including repeating units derived from a substituted or unsubstituted cyclohexylidene-bridged bisphenol, and a polyester-carbonate. The composition can exhibit a combination of desirable properties, including low haze and good scratch resistance. Methods for the manufacture of the composition and articles including the composition are also disclosed.
Claims14
A polycarbonate composition comprising:
- 10 to 60 weight percent, based on the total weight of the composition, of a bisphenol A homopolycarbonate;
- a polycarbonate comprising repeating units derived from a substituted or unsubstituted cyclohexylidene-bridged bisphenol in an amount effective to provide a substituted or unsubstituted cyclohexylidene-bridged bisphenol content of 25 weight percent or less, based on the total weight of the composition;
- and
- a polyester-carbonate comprising ester units derived from isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid, and resorcinol;
- wherein the composition has a cyclohexylidene-bridged bisphenol:(isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid, and resorcinol ester unit) weight ratio of less than 2.5.
