Abstract
A vehicle and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The vehicle includes a sensor unit, and a control circuit configured to stop the vehicle according to inter-vehicle distance control with respect to a preceding vehicle detected through the sensor unit, and control automatic restart of the vehicle based on at least one of a start point in time after stopping of the preceding vehicle and a state of a driver of the vehicle.
Claims20
A vehicle comprising:
- a sensor unit;
- and
- a control circuit configured to:
- stop the vehicle according to an inter-vehicle distance control with respect to a preceding vehicle detected through the sensor unit;
- and
- control, based on at least one of a start point in time after stopping of the preceding vehicle or a driver state of a driver of the vehicle, an automatic restart of the vehicle.
A method for controlling automatic restart after stopping of a vehicle, the method comprising:
- stopping, by an apparatus of the vehicle, the vehicle according to inter-vehicle distance control with respect to a preceding vehicle;
- and
- controlling, based on at least one of a start point in time after stopping of the preceding vehicle or a state of a driver of the vehicle, the automatic restart of the vehicle.
A computing device of a first vehicle, the computing device comprising:
- one or more processors, and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the first vehicle to:
- receive, during driving operations of the first vehicle and from a sensor unit of the first vehicle, data indicating one or more second vehicles in an environment of the first vehicle;
- cause, based the data indicating that at least one of the one or more second vehicles are within a distance threshold, the first vehicle to stop;
- and
- cause, after the first vehicle has stopped, the first vehicle to restart based on:
- a driver state of the first vehicle;
- and
- determining that a period of time has elapsed.
