Passenger seat airbag device

A passenger seat airbag device comprising:

• a storage portion disposed on a lower side of an instrument panel in a vehicle;
• an airbag to be folded and stored in the storage portion;
• and
• an inflator configured to supply inflation gas to the airbag, wherein
• the airbag into which the inflation gas flows is inflated to protrude rearward from the storage portion and be deployed forward and upward,
• the airbag includes a lower inflation portion connected to the inflator and configured to be inflated to protrude rearward from the storage portion, and an upper inflation portion communicated with the lower inflation portion via a communication hole and configured to be inflated on an upper side of the lower inflation portion, in which the lower inflation portion and the upper inflation portion are formed in separate bag shapes, and the lower inflation portion and the upper inflation portion are configured to be coupled each other by being joined to each other at a peripheral edge portion of the communication hole,
• the upper inflation portion is a portion that protects an upper body of an occupant seated in a passenger seat, and is configured, at a time of full inflation, such that a front lower surface side is abutted against the instrument panel, an upper surface side is abutted against a front windshield disposed above the instrument panel, and an area on a rear lower surface side constituting a periphery of the communication hole is supported by the lower inflation portion, and
• the lower inflation portion is configured such that an area on a rear end side at the time of full inflation is thicker than an area on a front end side located on a side of the storage portion, and an upper surface supporting the area on the rear lower surface side of the upper inflation portion is inclined rearward and upward with respect to a horizontal direction at the time of full inflation as viewed from left and right sides.
