A method and device for creating textured skived fins are disclosed. The method involves providing a block of material, pressing a textured pattern into a surface region, cutting below the surface to form a fin element, and bending the fin to expose a new surface. The process may include using a stamping die with protrusions to create indentations or holes in the fin surface. The cutting is performed with a blade that may have textured sides, imparting additional texture to the fins. The material may include pre-formed channels, which, when cut, create holes in the fins. The device comprises a base material with multiple fins, each having textured surfaces to improve thermal performance. The fins are positioned parallel and spaced apart, with texture patterns stamped or cut into their surfaces. The invention is applicable to materials such as copper or aluminum, providing improved heat dissipation for high-power electronic components.
