Abstract
A direct air capture CO2 system includes a CO2 extraction reactor having a chamber defined by a wall; an air inlet formed in the wall; an air outlet formed in the wall; and housing units defining internal volumes, the housing units arranged within the chamber, at least some of the housing units having spherical and/or ellipsoidal shapes, each of the internal volumes at least partially filled with functionalized CO2 sorbent particles.

A direct air capture CO2 system comprising:
- a CO2 extraction reactor having
- a chamber defined by a wall;
- an air inlet formed in the wall;
- an air outlet formed in the wall;
- and
- housing units defining internal volumes, the housing units arranged within the chamber, at least some of the housing units having spherical and/or ellipsoidal shapes, each of the internal volumes at least partially filled with functionalized CO2 sorbent particles.
A CO2 direct air capture sorbent housing unit comprising:
- an enclosable cell having a wall defining an internal volume and having a circular cross-section, the enclosable cell including functionalized CO2 sorbent particles within the internal volume,
- the enclosable cell having an air-impermeable portion and an air-permeable portion configured for entry and egress of air.
A direct air capture CO2 system comprising:
- a reaction reactor at least partially filled with replaceable sorbent housing units having spherical and/or ellipsoidal shapes, each housing unit having an internal volume filled with replaceable functionalized CO2 sorbent particles.
