Abstract
A system for performing postural evaluation. The system comprises: a posture determination unit configured to receive motion and/or positional data relating to one or more parts of a user’s body to determine a posture of the user; a task determination unit configured to use the determined posture and/or motion and/or positional data to determine a task being performed by the user; a posture evaluation unit configured to: retrieve a predetermined template posture corresponding to the determined task, and measure a difference between the determined posture of the user and the predetermined template posture; and a posture optimizer unit configured to: perform a mitigation action when the measured difference is greater than the a predetermined posture difference threshold.
Claims15
A system for performing postural evaluation, the system comprising:
- a posture determination unit configured to receive motion and/or positional data relating to one or more parts of a user’s body to determine a posture of the user;
- a task determination unit configured to use the determined posture and/or motion and/or positional data to determine a task being performed by the user;
- a posture evaluation unit configured to:
- retrieve a predetermined template posture corresponding to the determined task, and
- measure a difference between the determined posture of the user and the predetermined template posture;
- and
- a posture optimizer unit configured to perform a mitigation action when the measured difference is greater than a predetermined posture difference threshold.
A computer-implemented method for performing postural evaluation, the method comprising the steps of:
- receiving motion and/or positional data relating to one or more parts of a user’s body from a sensor arrangement;
- determining a posture of the user using the motion and/or positional data;
- determining a task being performed by the user using the determined posture and/or motion and/or positional data;
- retrieving a predetermined template posture corresponding to the determined task;
- measuring a difference between the determined posture of the user and the predetermined template posture;
- and
- performing a mitigation action when the measured difference is greater than a predetermined posture difference threshold.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium containing machine-executable instructions which, when executed on a processor, cause the processor to perform the method comprising:
- receiving motion and/or positional data relating to one or more parts of a user’s body from a sensor arrangement;
- determining a posture of the user using the motion and/or positional data;
- determining a task being performed by the user using the determined posture and/or motion and/or positional data;
- retrieving a predetermined template posture corresponding to the determined task;
- measuring a difference between the determined posture of the user and the predetermined template posture;
- and
- performing a mitigation action when the measured difference is greater than a predetermined posture difference threshold.
