Abstract
A method for processing a live fish can include: determining a set of fish attributes of a fish, optionally sorting the fish based on the set of fish attributes, euthanizing the fish, exsanguinating the fish, and/or any other suitable steps. In variants, the method can additionally or alternatively include: discarding the fish after sorting, further processing the fish, and/or tracking the fish. However, the method can additionally and/or alternatively include any other suitable elements.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving a first fish, wherein the first fish is a live fish;
- using a set of sensors, capturing a first set of measurements of the first fish;
- determining a first evaluation of the first fish based on the first set of measurements and a set of environmental information;
- based on the first evaluation, rejecting the first fish;
- receiving a second fish;
- using the set of sensors, capturing a second set of measurements of the second fish;
- based on the second set of measurements and the set of environmental information, determining a second evaluation. based on the second evaluation, determining a euthanization trajectory;
- and
- controlling a set of fish processing equipment to euthanize the second fish using the euthanization trajectory.
A system along a fish processing line, comprising, onboard a boat:
- a set of fish restraints defining a working volume;
- a set of sensors facing the working volume configured to capture a set of measurements of a live fish;
- a set of cutting tools coupled to a set of actuators;
- and
- a processing system configured to:
- receive the set of measurements of the fish;
- automatically determine a fish euthanization trajectory based on the set of measurements, using a trained trajectory determination model;
- and
- control the set of actuators to actuate the set of cutting tools along the fish euthanization trajectory to euthanize the fish.
A method, comprising:
- receiving a fish;
- while a set of restraints constrains the fish, capturing a set of measurements of the fish;
- based on the set of measurements, determining a set of external features of the fish;
- based on the set of external features of the fish, estimating a location of an internal anatomical feature of the fish;
- based on the location of the internal anatomical feature, determining a cutting trajectory;
- and
- controlling a cutting tool to cut the fish based on the cutting trajectory.
