Contention window value determining method and apparatus

A method, comprising:

• determining, by a terminal device, a reference duration, wherein a priority of a channel occupancy time (COT) to which the reference duration belongs is the same as a transmission priority corresponding to one or more to-be-transmitted transport blocks (TBs);
• and
• determining, by the terminal device, a target contention window value based on a transmission status of at least one TB in the reference duration, wherein the target contention window value is for preempting a channel for the one or more to-be-transmitted TBs, wherein:
• a cast type of a TB in the COT to which the reference duration belongs is different from a cast type of the one or more to-be-transmitted TBs;
• a TB in the COT to which the reference duration belongs corresponds to at least two cast types;
• or
• the one or more to-be-transmitted TBs correspond to at least two cast types.

A method, comprising:

• determining, by a terminal device, a target contention window value based on a transmission status of at least one physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) in a reference duration,
• wherein the target contention window value is for preempting a channel for a to-be-transmitted PSSCH, and
• wherein the reference duration is within a channel occupancy time (COT), the reference duration comprises a first PSSCH, the first PSSCH is a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) enabled PSSCH, and a HARQ corresponding to the first PSSCH is detected by the terminal device;
• and
• the terminal device is a terminal device that initializes the COT.

A communication apparatus, comprising:

• at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute a computer program or instructions stored in a memory, to enable the communication apparatus to perform operations including:
• determining a reference duration, wherein a priority of a channel occupancy time (COT) to which the reference duration belongs is the same as a transmission priority corresponding to to-be-transmitted transport blocks (TBs);
• and
• determining a target contention window value based on a transmission status of at least one TB in the reference duration, wherein the target contention window value is for preempting a channel for the one or more to-be-transmitted TBs, wherein
• a cast type of a TB in the COT to which the reference duration belongs is different from a cast type of the one or more to-be-transmitted TBs;
• a TB in the COT to which the reference duration belongs corresponds to at least two cast types;
• or
• the one or more to-be-transmitted TBs correspond to at least two cast types.
