Abstract
An image forming system including: RIP unit configured to perform RIP on data to be printed; a print instruction unit configured to instruct an image forming device to print RIP data; a delay detection unit configured to detect a page for which the RIP is delayed during on-the-fly printing that starts printing without waiting for completion of the RIP of a print job; and an alternative processing instruction unit configured to cause the image forming device to interrupt printing of the page and to execute an alternative processing.
Claims20
An image forming system comprising:
- a raster image processing (RIP) processor configured to perform RIP on data to be printed;
- a print instructor configured to instruct an image forming device to print RIP data;
- a delay detector configured to detect a page for which the RIP is delayed during on-the-fly printing that starts printing without waiting for completion of the RIP of a print job;
- and
- an alternative processing instructor configured to cause the image forming device to interrupt printing of the page and to execute an alternative processing.
An alternative processing execution method comprising:
- executing RIP on data to be printed by an RIP processor;
- instructing an image forming device to print RIP data by a print instructor;
- detecting a page for which the RIP is delayed during on-the-fly printing that starts printing without waiting for completion of the RIP of a print job by a delay detector;
- and
- causing the image forming device to interrupt printing of the page to execute an alternative processing by an alternative processing instructor.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing an alternative processing execution program for causing a computer to perform:
- executing RIP on data to be printed;
- instructing an image forming device to print RIP data;
- detecting a page for which the RIP is delayed during on-the-fly printing that starts printing without waiting for completion of the RIP of a print job, and
- causing the image forming device to interrupt printing of the page to execute an alternative processing.
