Abstract
Computing systems, computer-readable media, and methods for direct arrival replacement. The method includes creating intermediate data from an acquired data by attenuating a direct arrival signal or attenuating the direct arrival signal and one or more strong early arrival signals recorded at a receiver; transforming the temporary data from a first processing domain into a second processing domain; modelling the direct arrival signal in the second processing domain; estimating a scalar for model calibration and a seabed reflectivity from an area around the direct arrival signal; and inserting the direct arrival signal that is modelled into the intermediate data in the second processing domain.
Claims18
A method for direct arrival replacement, the method comprising:
- creating intermediate data from an acquired data by attenuating a direct arrival signal or attenuating the direct arrival signal and one or more strong early arrival signals recorded at a receiver;
- transforming the intermediate data from a first processing domain into a second processing domain;
- modelling the direct arrival signal in the second processing domain;
- estimating a scalar for model calibration and a seabed reflectivity from an area around the direct arrival signal;
- and
- inserting the direct arrival signal that is modelled into the intermediate data in the second processing domain.
A system for direct arrival replacement, comprising:
- a computer processor;
- and
- a memory storing instructions executed by the computer processor, wherein the instructions comprise a method comprising:
- creating intermediate data from an acquired data by attenuating a direct arrival signal or attenuating the direct arrival signal and one or more strong early arrival signals recorded at a receiver;
- transforming the intermediate data from a first processing domain into a second processing domain;
- modelling the direct arrival signal in the second processing domain;
- estimating a scalar for model calibration and a seabed reflectivity from an area around the direct arrival signal;
- and
- inserting the direct arrival signal that is modelled into the intermediate data in the second processing domain.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that are configured to,
- when executed, cause a computer processor to perform a method comprising:
- creating intermediate data from an acquired data by attenuating a direct arrival signal or attenuating the direct arrival signal and one or more strong early arrival signals recorded at a receiver;
- transforming the intermediate data from a first processing domain into a second processing domain;
- modelling the direct arrival signal in the second processing domain;
- estimating a scalar for model calibration and a seabed reflectivity from an area around the direct arrival signal;
- and
- inserting the direct arrival signal that is modelled into the intermediate data in the second processing domain.
