Abstract
Disclosed are methods for making lased poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN). Also disclosed herein are components (e.g., electrodes and batteries) comprising lased PAN.
Claims31
A method for making lased poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN), comprising
- obtaining a membrane comprising (PAN);
- microstructuring the membrane;
- thermally treating the membrane in air to produce a membrane comprising thermally stabilized PAN, wherein the thermal treating occurs at less than 300° C.;
- and
- laser annealing the thermally stabilized membrane to produce lased PAN with a decreased sheet resistance, as compared to microstructured PAN, wherein the laser annealing is conducted by a computer comprising a Bayesian optimization program.
