Abstract
A gastroscopic instrument for delivering fixating members in a method of treating or reducing reflux disease in a patient by fixating an esophagus of the patient to a fundus of a stomach of the patient. The gastroscopic instrument comprising a first fundus part configured to deliver at least one fixating member from the fundus to the esophagus, a second esophagus part configured to be positioned in the esophagus and to be aligned with the first part when the first part delivers the at least one fixating member, a first and second operable joint, wherein the operation of the first and second operable joint enables the instrument to go around an angle of His and position the first part in the fundus in a position opposite to the second part which is positioned in the esophagus.

A method of treating or reducing reflux disease by fixating an esophagus of a patient to a fundus of a stomach of the patient using a gastroscopic instrument, the gastroscopic instrument comprising a first fundus part configured to deliver at least one fixating member from the fundus to the esophagus, a second esophagus part configured to be positioned in the esophagus and configured to assist when the first part delivers the at least one fixating member, a first operable joint, a second operable joint, and a third portion placed between the first and second operable joints, the method comprising:
- inserting the gastroscopic instrument into the esophagus,
- operating the first operable joint,
- operating the second operable joint, wherein the operation of the first and second operable joint enables the instrument to go around an angle of His and position the first part in the fundus in a position opposite to the second part which is positioned in the esophagus, such that the two operable joints are sufficient for enabling the first part to be aligned with the second part, and
- delivering at least one fixating member from the first part, through a tissue of the fundus and through a tissue of the esophagus and to the position of the second part.
A gastroscopic instrument for delivering fixating members in a method of treating or reducing reflux disease in a patient by fixating an esophagus of the patient to a fundus of a stomach of the patient, the gastroscopic instrument comprising:
- a first fundus part configured to deliver at least one fixating member from the fundus to the esophagus,
- a second esophagus part configured to be positioned in the esophagus and to be aligned with the first part when the first part delivers the at least one fixating member,
- a first and second operable joint, wherein the operation of the first and second operable joint enables the instrument to go around an angle of His and position the first part in the fundus in a position opposite to the second part positioned in the esophagus, the two operable joints being sufficient for enabling the first part to be aligned with the second part, and
- a third portion placed between the first and second operable joints.
A gastroscopic system for treating or reducing reflux disease in a patient by fixating an esophagus of the patient to a fundus of a stomach of the patient, the gastroscopic system comprising a gastroscopic instrument and at least one fixating member,
- the gastroscopic instrument comprising:
- a first fundus part configured to deliver at least one fixating member from the fundus to the esophagus,
- a second esophagus part configured to be positioned in the esophagus and to be aligned with the first part when the first part delivers the at least one fixating member,
- a first and second operable joint, wherein the operation of the first and second operable joint enables the instrument to go around an angle of His and position the first part in the fundus in a position opposite to the second part which is positioned in the esophagus, the two operable joints being sufficient for enabling the first part to be aligned with the second part, and
- a third portion placed between the first and second operable joints,
- the at least one fixating member being a state changing fixating member having a first and second state, wherein
- the fixating member in the first state is configured to penetrate the tissue of the fundus and esophagus, and
- the fixating member in the second state is configured to be hindered from penetrating tissue.
