Abstract
A method for supporting an intraocular lens (IOL) includes providing a primary intraocular ring (PIR) mountable to an eye and a secondary device (SD) connecting the IOL with the PIR. The PIR and SD are mounted within the eye, and the IOL is attached to the SD. Ultrasound is focused from outside the eye to at least one of the SD and the IOL, so as to controllably and non-invasively move the IOL relative to the PIR with at least one motion component selected from a group consisting of rotating, forward-backward moving, decentralizing, tilting, and angulating.
Claims11
A method for supporting an intraocular lens (IOL), comprising:
- providing a primary intraocular ring (PIR) mountable to an eye and a secondary device (SD) connecting the IOL with the PIR;
- mounting the PIR and the SD within the eye;
- attaching the IOL to the SD;
- focusing ultrasound from outside the eye to at least one of the SD and the IOL, so as to controllably and non-invasively move the IOL relative to the PIR with at least one motion component selected from a group consisting of rotating, forward-backward moving, decentralizing, tilting, and angulating.
