Abstract
A medical device may include a needle, including a plurality of links and a distal tip, reciprocally movable between a first configuration and a second configuration, and a conduit including a lumen extending through the needle, the conduit being coupled to the distal tip, wherein longitudinal movement of the conduit is configured to transition the needle between the first configuration and the second configuration.
Claims20
A medical device, comprising:
- a tool including a first link and a second link, wherein the first link and the second link are adjacent and movable relative to one another, each link further comprising:
- an annular ring including a proximal surface and a distal surface;
- a cam configured to engage with a corresponding surface of an adjacent link;
- at least one lumen extending through each of the first link and the second link;
- one or more actuation members extending through the at least one lumen, wherein applying tension to the one or more actuation members causes relative movement between the first link and the second link via engagement of the cam with the corresponding surface;
- and
- a distal tip positioned distally from the first link and the second link.
4 more elements
A medical device, comprising:
- a needle including a plurality of links and a distal tip, wherein adjacent links of the plurality of links are movable relative to one another;
- wherein at least one of the links includes at least one cam configured to engage a surface of an adjacent link;
- and
- one or more actuation members extending through the needle and configured such that application of tension to the one or more actuation members causes relative movement between the adjacent links via engagement of the cam with the surface of the adjacent link.
1 more element
A medical device, comprising:
- a needle including a plurality of stacked links and a distal tip, wherein adjacent links of the plurality of stacked links are movable relative to one another;
- wherein each link comprises an annular ring including a proximal surface and a distal surface;
- wherein each link further includes at least one cam positioned on at least one of the proximal surface or the distal surface, the at least one cam being configured to engage a surface of an adjacent link;
- and
- one or more actuation members extending through the plurality of stacked links and configured such that application of tension to the one or more actuation members causes the adjacent links to move relative to one another by engagement of the cam with the surface of the adjacent link, thereby bending the needle.
