Wall Niche Installations and Related Methods

An installation kit (1) for producing a wall niche, comprising:

• a watertight container (2) having a rear wall (5) and a peripheral wall (6) and having an access opening (7) on its front side;
• a frame (3) which borders the peripheral wall (6) of the container (2) and is designed as a separate component and is configured to be pushed onto the container (2) from the front, the frame (3) having:
• a side wall area (9) which, when the frame (3) is pushed onto the container (2), borders the outer surface of the peripheral wall (6) of the container (2), at least a portion of the side wall resting against at least a portion of the outer surface of the peripheral wall (6);
• and
• a front wall area (10) which extends outwards in a flange-like manner in relation to the side wall area (9) and forms an angle of about 90° with the side wall area (9);
• wherein a transition area (11) between the side wall area (9) and the front wall area (10) is shaped in such a way that, when the frame (3) is pushed onto the container (2), the transition area forming a joint space which is accessible at the front side and extends at least substantially all the way around and is intended for receiving a mounting adhesive (16), in particular a sealing mounting adhesive.
