Abstract
Methods and systems for ripple suppression in multi-phase buck converters may comprise a buck converter for providing an output voltage with controlled ripple current. The buck converter may include one or more main buck converter stages and one or more suppression buck converter stages coupled with the one or more main buck converter stages. The one or more suppression buck converter stages may provide suppression currents to reduce ripple currents generated in the one or main buck converter stages.

A system, comprising:
- a buck converter operable to provide an output voltage with controlled ripple current, wherein the buck converter comprises one or more main buck converter stages;
- a digital signal processor (DSP) operable to provide a control signal to a power digital-to-analog-converter (DAC) to cause the power DAC to provide a suppression current;
- the power DAC coupled with the one or more main buck converter stages, wherein the power DAC is operable to provide the suppression current to reduce a ripple current generated in the one or more main buck converter stages;
- and
- an analog to digital converter (ADC) operable to monitor the output voltage.

A method, comprising:
- providing, at a buck converter, an output voltage with controlled ripple current, wherein the buck converter comprises one or more main buck converter stages;
- providing, at a digital signal processor (DSP), a control signal to a power digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to cause the power DAC to provide a suppression current;
- providing, at the power DAC, the suppression current to reduce a ripple current generated in the one or more main buck converter stages;
- and
- monitoring, at an analog to digital converter (ADC), the output voltage.
